NPFL will Help Struggling Super Eagles – Ahmed Musa

Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa has emphasized the need to significantly involve home-based players in the national team, particularly during challenging times.

Speaking at a ceremony on Friday, Musa argued that integrating a substantial number of players from Nigerian league will enhance the overall performance of the team.

Nigeria’s last African Cup of Nations victory in 2013 featured eight home-based players, but currently, only one slot is allocated to them in the squad.

“We have to go back to the local league,” Musa said. “We won the 2013 African Cup of Nations with eight home based players in the team and five of them are starters.”

“I’m a product of the league, I won’t be here today, if no body believed him when I started my career in the league.

“I think the way forward is to go back to the league,” He concluded.
