Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali says Ronwen Williams deserves all the credits coming his way after fine performance at the just concluded 2023 African Cup of Nations.
Nwabali and the South Africa shot stopper were neck to neck in the race for the tournament’s best keeper award.
The Bafana Bafana captain eventually won the accolades, with five clean sheets and six penalty shoot-out saves.
Speaking after Sunday’s final, Nwabali said it was an honour to compete with the 32-year-old Bafana Bafana Captain.
“Ronwen Williams is a very good goalkeeper to be honest. He deserves the recognition and it is an honour that I am competing with this kind of guy.
“He is among the best goalkeeper of the tournament, he deserves the award.” He said.
Nwabali recorded four clean sheet in seven matches for the Super Eagles.
