Rivers Angels defeated Confluence Queens, thanks to a stellar performance by Chiamaka Okechukwu.

In a thrilling matchday four showdown of the Nigeria Women Football League Premiership Super Six, Okechukwu scored a late brace to revitalize Rivers Angels’ title aspirations.

Before the match, Rivers Angels stood third in the league table, trailing behind Edo Queens and Bayelsa Queens in second and first place respectively.

The first goal of the match came from Emem Essien’s assist to Suliat Abideen, who capitalized on the opportunity, sending the ball past Confluence Queens’ goalkeeper Udoka.

The goal sparked wild celebrations setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Despite dominating possession, conceded for the second time in the 89th minute to further fall behind Rivers Angels.

Following the victory over Confluence Queens, the former Champions have now surged ahead of Bayelsa Queens on the championship table.
