Super Eagles Striker, Odion Ighalo returned to action for Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League after a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

Odion, 27, scored a brace for his side against Shanghai Shenhua last month, but his debut goals; since his move to China, was followed by an ugly tackle which ruled him out for the rest of the month.

Nonetheless, He returned early and featured for his side on Saturday against Tianjin Quanjian, dispelling concerns he might very well be away on a long injury lay off.

He started for Yatai but did not add to his two-goal tally, and was subsequently replaced in the 90th minute.

Yatai improved their standing on the league table with a win after after two straight defeats.

The victory on Saturday over Tianjin Quanjian saw them shoot up to 11th on the 16-team table.
