Ogunbodede praise Remo Stars after win over El-Kanemi

Remo Stars Head Coach Daniel Ogunbodede has lavished praise on his team for starting the new Campaign with victory on Sunday.

Remo Stars went into the game after painful defeat in the CAF Confederations Cup few months ago, but there was no evidence that the blow off the field had any impact on it.

Remo Stars however defeated visiting El-Kanemi Warrior of Maiduguri 2-0 in Ikenne.

Samuel Anakwe strikes first in the 29th minutes, before Edidiong Enobong scored the second with two minutes left on regulation time.

In a chat with brila.net, Ogunbodede said he’s elated with the win.

“I am really happy with the result, scoring two and a clean sheet – it’s a good way to start the season after a long while.

‘We had spells that we were not in a rush to score and we manage the ball well. We were really effective in final third but the composure was lacking a little bit.’

Ogunbodede also believes his side has matured since their ouster from the CAF Confederations Cup.

“The team has matured, I can tell you that, it was a nice experience to play on the continent and lessons have been learnt. We want to go back and have a shot at it agai, but we must do well in the league.” He told brila.net

Remo Stars will next face Gombe United in the mid-week fixtures.
