Nigeria’s Sprint queen Blessing Okagbare will hope to quickly put the Doha experience behind her quick enough to bounce back stronger on the tracks, perhaps in China.

The 29-year-old former Commonwealth Games champion was one of only two Africans in the field on Friday for the Women’s 200m race at the IAAF Diamond League in Doha.

She returned in a time of 23.15 seconds; 1.08 seconds shy of her best set in the 200m, three years ago.

Côte d’ivoire‘s Marie-Josée Ta Lou finished in third place behind Elaine Thompson of Jamaica and Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands.

In the points haul, Ta Lou‘s better time earned her 6 points while Okagbare registered 3 points in the first of 14 Grand Prix this year.
