Omeruo expects Tough match against Bafana Africa, “Like a Final”

Kenneth Omeruo has assured Nigeria will take the fight to South Africa when they Eagles face Bafana Bafana in the second-leg of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Group E qualifying match and it will be like another “final”.

South Africa host the second-leg at the FNB Stadium after a imperial first-leg performance where they knocked Nigeria 2-0 in Uyo, a result that still hangs in the air like a bad smell Omeruo suggests.

Currently, Nigeria are top of the group with a single point; following back to back wins over Libya and South Africa’s draw at Seychelles.

In a chat with Brila.net the defender expressed some excitement about the quality he expects from the two teams on November 17, but hopes the Eagles will fight for the win.

‘We lost to them in Nigeria and that still hurts, so we need to go out there and fight.

‘Surely, we will go there to play for a win or draw, but certainly this game will be like it’s a final,’ Omeruo quips.
