Paul Onuachu has questioned Roberto Martinez’s decision to leave out Bryan Heymen and Mike Tresor from the Belgian Squad for the World Cup.
Martinez shocking left out the Genk duo, despite their impressive form for the Jupiler league leaders.
Tresor sits on the assists chart this season, creating 13 goals in total, with 5 of them for Paul Onuachu.
Heyman on his part has 6 goals and 2 assists to his name this season, and to Onuachu’s surprise, Eden Hazard will just have one goal this season made the squad.
“I was shocked when I heard that and I wasn’t the only one,” Onuachu was quoted as saying on HLN.
“You feel that all of Belgium has a hard time with this, don’t you? Look at Mike’s stats. Nobody does better. It is sometimes crazy how things work in football.”
“If the sport were fair, Mike and Bryan Heynen would have been there in Qatar. The Belgian football top also knows that those two deserve it.” He said.
Belgium will be aiming to go one step further by reaching the final of the World Cup in Qatar.
The Red Devils finished third last time out in Russia, beating England 1-0 in the losers finals.
