Adana Demirspor, on Thursday, crashed out of the Turkish Cup despite Babajide David’s goal and Henry Onyekuru’s effort.

Onyekuru and David had great game, but their effort wasn’t enough to save Adana Demirspor from losing 4-3 defeat to Rizespor at Yeni Adana Stadyumu.

Nigerian strikers Henry Onyekuru and Babajide David started in attack for the home team, but it was the away side who went to the break with a 2-0 lead.

Sefa Yilmaz scored the first inside opening 7th minute, Deniz Hümmet ddee the second on the stroke of half time.

Adana Demirspor started the second half on positive note and Onyekuru’s goal bound effort was blocked by the opposing defender.

David stepped forward and converted the kick emphatically in the 62nd minute.

The game went into extra time when Bahadir Öztürk headed into his own net five minutes from time.

Rizespor found their rhythm again in extra time, netting twice, through Kubilay Kanatsizkus and Alberk Koc, before Yusuf Sari netted in the 117th minute to set up a nervy finish.

The defeat ended a good run in the Turkish Cup for Adana Demirspor.
