Ordega reveals dream to win Africa Women’s best player award

Super Falcons and Washington Spirit forward Francisca Ordega has vowed to work hard to win the continent best player award in the future after missing out on the 2018 edition to South Africa’s Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana.

Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana beats  Francisca Ordega and Asisat Oshoala to the top Women football best individual award on the continent to wrap up a remarkable year which saw finished as the top scorer at the 11th AWCON in Ghana to lead Bayana Bayana to the final of the competition and also their first ever World Cup qualification.

 

Ordega, who was also instrumental to Falcons success in 2018 revealed her dream to win the top gong before quitting the round leather game.

 

“My dream is to win the Africa Women player of the year before retirement I will surely work hard this year both at the club and national level.

 

Can you imagine the kind of joy that comes with being shown to millions across the world in a live show as the best player in the continent? But also I am happy that super falcons won the best team of the year.

 

“I congratulate Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa for winning the award. She deserves the award. She was really thorned in our team during AWCON in Ghana”, Ordega said.

 

Ordega has another chance to fulfill her dream as she will be in action for Nigeria Super Falcons at the 2019 WomenWorldrld Cup in France.
