Jose Peseiro says he’s happy with the quality of friendly games his side have played, despite missing out of place in Qatar 2022 World Cup.
Nigeria lost to Ghana in the final World Cup qualification play off, but they have tested themselves against World Cup bound opponents like Mexico, Ecuador and now Portugal.
Speaking ahead of the game Peseiro said he’s happy with the friendlies, and explained that, the idea is to continue improving the team for future tournaments.
“There is always the strategic side of the game; however, in my idea and in my head is the future, the next game.
He added that that, the clash against Portugal is very important to his side and they’ll approach it with top mentality.
“The we want to play against the best teams. I don’t know if Portugal will allow us and if we are going to be able to do what we want, but we want to play the game across the field and also have the ball because we have players with the quality and capacity for that,” He told Portuguese radio station.
