Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro said he’s willing to try new players, but only if they are good enough.
Peseiro made the statement in Ilorin where he watched a Nigeria Professional Football League clash between Kwara United and Sunshine Stars on Sunday.
The Portuguese already included eight players from the local league in his team and he gave the likes of Isaq Rafiu, Victor Mbaoma, and others their senior national team debut.
“New players spring up every day in Nigeria but we have the best now. Okay, if I see a new player who is doing better than the player in his position.”
“I will give him time little by little to help me understand our idea which is what we want to do more at the moment and not bring in new players,” Peseiro said.
Peseiro led the Super Eagles to back-to-back victories over Sao Tome and Principe (10-0) and Sierra Leone (2-1) in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
