There’s nothing to celebrate yet about Nigeria’s 2019 FIBA World Cup chances because the NBBF is behind schedule in planning for the Coachless D’Tigers according to First Bank Female Basketball Club Peter Ahmedu.

Nigeria has been drawn to play against Uganda, Rwanda and Mali in the FIBA Africa zone qualifiers for the World Cup and though several stakeholders consider the Group B competition favorable to D’Tigers, Ahmedu however disagrees.

In a chat with www.brila.net the Coach maintains that there are challenges with the NBBF now that could mitigate Nigeria’s chances.

Ahmedu said the dissolution of the NBBF board and the vacant D’Tigers Coaching situation makes the task of a smooth arrival in China a daunting task.

He also cited the problem of assembling players for camping early enough to get the team in proper competitive form for the qualifiers.
