Plateau United not yet a finished product – Ilechukwu

Plateau United’s Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu says there is still work to be done, but he’s confident the team will be ready for the 2021-2022 Nigeria Professional Football League Season.

Ilechukwu took over the team a few months after his exit from Heartland Football Club of Owerri.

The former MFM boss led the team to a positive outing at the maiden edition of the Abuja Unity Pre-season Football Tournament, where they beat Nasarawa United in Sunday’s final.

Assessing the team’s performance, Ilechukwu said the team is far from being perfect, but will work hard to get them ready for the season.

“We are not a finish product yet. The team is still work in progress and am very optimistic in the next two weeks, we shall present a strong team.

“My boys gave a good account of themselves in the tournament which afforded the technical crew the opportunity to monitor the team closely in a competitive environment and that we have achieved.” He concluded.

The Peace Boys finished 9th last season and Ilechukwu will be aiming to take further when the league restart  next season.
