Rangers Star wants Super Eagles Return

Rangers Star wants Super Eagles Return

Leon Balogun is eager to make a comeback to international football with Nigeria.

Balogun, 35, had to miss the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations due to an injury, and hasn’t featured in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Also, since hos return to club football, the CB has been enjoying a fresh restart with Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

This has reignited his desire to represent the Super Eagles and don the Nigerian national team jersey once again.

“That’s perfect, I’m hoping to make the next squad. I have been out for quite some time and definitely, it would be something nice.

“Obviously, I’m looking forward to being called up. As much as it can be chaotic, I missed international football with Nigeria, and a lot of faces I haven’t seen for a long time,” He told Rangers TV.

With his recent performances at Rangers, it remains to be seen if he will be able to secure a spot in the Super Eagles squad for upcoming game against Sao Tome and Principe.
