Giovani Lo Celso escaped a straight red card in Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, in a VAR gaffe moment that has the internet wondering what is wrong with the system in England.
Lo Celso stomped on Chelsea’s captain Cesar Azpilicueta lat on in the encounter, and despite VAR reviewing for a possible Red Card, the decision came back as ‘NO’.
But in a review of the decision at the VAR Hub in Stockley Park where the Premier League’s Assistant VAR (AVAR).

The decision did not mar the excitement of the game, however, as Frank Lampard recorded another win (home and away) over his former Manager Jose Mourinho in the league.
Lampard’s Chelsea scored stunning finishes from Oliver Giroud, who was making his first league start of the season, and a pile driver from Defender Marcos Alonso.

Substitute Eric Lamela’s cross deflected off Antonio Rudiger and beat Willy Caballero in goal for the Blues
The 38 year-old making his third straight appearance this season after Lampard opted to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Victory for the hosts also means they remain ahead of Spurs in fourth position with a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League a major contention for teams at least in the top seven.
