Referee Boss recommends Stiffer Sanctions, even Points deduction for Crowd Trouble in NPFL

Ahead of the resumption of the Nigeria Professional Football league, following the mid season break, leadership for the Referees Association, Tade Azeez has advocated stiffer sanctions for crowd offences.

The NRA Boss says he wants clubs whose fans become unruly and breach the rules during league matches aren’t let off with a slap on the wrist.

League Matches return this weekend after a three-week mid season break, but a couple of unsavory events have made it pertinent for immediate and drastic action according to the referee chief.

Azeez argued that “points deduction will go a long way in curbing the violent tendencies of fans who cause trouble during matches.”
