Sadiq Umar back from injury, but not ready for action

Sadiq Umar trained for his Real Sociedad teammates on Tuesday after almost seven months on the sideline with an injury.

The Nigerian striker suffered an ACL injury last year during a Spanish La Liga game against Getafe, and he spent 247 days away from the first team in the process.
The Nigerian trained with the group, sparking speculations that he could make his come back before the end of the season.
According to the club, Tuesday’s training is one of the steps for him to return to the pitch but it has to be a gradual process.
“We don’t want to take risks, as he goes very carefully with his return to competition.”
“The workload with the group will gradually increase. However, it was a first step, and essential for his morale because it is not the same to train alone as to be able to do it within the group dynamics.” The club said.
Umar became the club’s record signing following his €23m transfer from UD Almeria last summer.
