Saka, Anjorin and two others listed for 2020 Golden boy award

Bukayo Saka and Faustino Anjorin are among the 23 youngsters from Premier League to make 100-man list for the 2020 Golden Boy award.

The prestigious prize is awarded to be the best player below 21 years of age and the last edition was won by Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix.

The annual award was created by Italian outlet Tuttosport in 2003 as all nominees must be under the age of 21 and play in a major European league.

While Saka is enjoying a good run of games in the Arsenal’s star-studded squad, Anjorin just penned a five year deal with Chelsea and he’s expected to challenge for first-team opportunities.

Another player with Nigeria descent on the list are Michael Obafemi of Southampton and Karim Adeyemi of RB Salzburg.

The Premier league trip of Saka, Obafemi, and Adeyemi along with Adeyemi will compete for the gong against the likes of Borussia Dortmund duo Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies and other top talents for the award.

While Michael Obafemi has made his official debut for the Republic of Ireland, the trio of Bukayo Saka, Tino Anjorin, Karim are still eligible to represent Nigeria.
