Shorunmu expects more black coaches to benefits from Egbo’s Albania league success

Former Nigeria international and ex-Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu has stated that more Nigerian and black coaches stand a good chance of benefitting from the exploit of FK Tirana’s Nigerian coach Ndubisi Egbo after the former Nigerian goalkeeper led the Albania side to a league victory.

Shorunmu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the achievement of Egbo is an eye-opener already for Nigerian coaches who may have been wondering how realistic this can be. He added that it was also a very good way to prove to the Europeans that black coaches are equally competent to bring success when trusted with such jobs.
“It’s a good thing and again it’s an eye-opener to every one of us that want to stay back in Europe. It’s a good thing to prove them wrong that we too we can get something and do it better but another way round too, you have to be on ground to know the system because if you’re not on ground it’s going to be difficult and for Egbo to achieve this kind of a thing I’m sure other clubs too they will like to contact another Nigerian or African person.”
