South Africa got their second win ever against Nigeria in the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Sunday’s 1-0 win at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
An 85th minute stunner by second-half Thembi Kgatlana punished a sleepy Falcons defence as she volleyed a shot past Tochukwu Oluehi.
The slim victory will see Banyana Banyana pick three points and a win in their next Group B match guarantees their qualification to the semi-final.
Meanwhile, it was three editions ago when Banyana got their first win over the Falcons. Janine Van Wyk scored the winner in a semi-final clash.
