Southampton’s €12m offer for Onuachu rejected

Southampton have seen their initial bid for Paul Onuachu rejected by KRC Genk.

The Premier League club, according to Belgian Jupiler league expert Sacha Tavolieri tabled €12m for the striker, who has scored 14 goals this season.

The bid was deemed insufficient for Onuachu who still has a contract for one and a half years on his contract with KRC Genk.

The Limburgers absolutely want to keep him on board this winter, because he can play a key role in the title race.

KRC Genk are currently top of the Belgian Jupiler League table, nine points ahead of Union Saint-Gilloise. Should they finish as Champions, Onuachu could get his dream move.

Onuachu on his part has indicated his interest to play elsewhere and has been linked with West Ham United and Olympique Lyon among others.
