Super Eagles’ fans favourite Tyronne Ebuehi suffers Cruciate Ligament injury

Super Eagles and Benfica’s fullback Tyronne Ebuehi has sustained a damage to his left anterior cruciate ligament and is expected to be out of action for a prolonged spell.
The Nigeria international suffered the serious knee injury during Benfica’s International Champions Cup defeat to Juventus on Saturday.
Benfica made the announcement about the injury on Monday, July 30

The athlete Tyronne suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and will undergo surgical intervention in the next few days,” Benfica announced on their website Monday.

No further details were given about the injury.

 

Ebuehi who joined the Portuguese giants from ADO Den Haag in June replaced André Almeida in the 67th minute as his side bowed 4-2 on penalties to the Italians at Red Bull Arena after scores stood at 1-1.

 

Ebuehi played one match for the Super Eagles against Iceland at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He has seven caps for Nigeria.
