Members of the Super Falcons of Nigeria have departed Frankfurt, Germany ahead of the friendly game against Canada.
The team left on Wednesday morning as they get ready to square up against the Olympics Champion the Canadian women’s team.
The teams will face off in a doubleheader clash and the first game will take place on April 8 in Vancouver, while the second match will be played three days later, on April 11, at the Starlight Stadium in Langford.
The Canadians ranked sixth in the world and won their first-ever gold medal in the Summer Olympics football tournament by beating Sweden 3–2 in the penalty shoot-out after both teams drew 1–1 after extra time in the final.
The games will serve as preparations for the African Women’s Championship billed for Morroco later this year.
The Awcon will also serve as qualifiers for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
