Nigeria WNT, the Super Falcons, had an exciting FIFA Women’s World Cup match, beating co-hosts Australia 3-2 in their second Group B game on Thursday.

Despite a shaky start, the Super Falcons managed to bounce back and secure a victory.

Goalie Chiamaka Nnadozie was instrumental once again, making a crucial save towards the end of the game.

The Super Falcons went behind in stoppage time of the first half with a goal from Emily Van Egmond, but the Africans turned the game on its head moments later, equalizing before the half-time whistle.

Uchenna Kanu fired home the equalizer after good work from Toni Payne and Rasheedat Ajibade.

In the second half, defender Osinachi Ohale put Nigeria ahead, and substitute Asisat Oshoala rounded up the Aussie goalie to solidify the team’s lead.

Australia got a consolation late in stoppage time in the second half, but the Super Falcons held on.

With this victory, Nigeria moved top of the log with four points, tied with Canada.

Their next match comes up July 31, against the Republic of Ireland who have already been eliminated.
