Nigerian forward Terem Moffi scored his 11th and 12th league goal of the season for French league one side Lorient on Saturday.
The youngster netted the goals in Lorient 3-2 defeat to Olympique Marseille at the Stade Orange Velodrome.
Terem Moffi’s goal of the game came in the 19th minute and it was assisted by French-born Congolese midfielder Yoane Wissa.
The goal was enough to usher Lorient into the halftime break with the lead, however, Marseille came out blazing in the second half and succeeded in turning the tie around.
Captain Dimitri Payet grabbed the equalizer 11 minutes after the restart, thanks to a superb assist from former Napoli man Arkadiusz Milik.
Lorient reacted and restored parity in the 70th minute, again, it was Yoan Wassa who set up Terem Moffi for his brace.
Lorient’s coach Christophe Pelissier denied Terem Moffi a chance of a hat-trick by replacing him with Adrian Grbic seven minutes from time.
Marseille’s late pressure paid off as Pol Lirola converted a pass from Dimitri Payet in the added time to win the thrilling match 3-2.
The defeat is a massive blow to Lorient’s battle to avoid relegation as it left them with just two points above the drop zone.
