Captain of Nigeria’s U23 national team Azubuike Okechukwu has stated that the team are still very much in a must win situation to be sure of scaling the group state hurdle and getting closer to pick a spot at the 2020 Olympic games men’s football event.
Okechukwu speaking in a chat gathered by brila.net said he believes the presence of players who like himself played in the 2015 U23 AFCON winning side will come in handy in the quest to ensure they get the needed result against South Africa later this evening.
“We have like three players who won the last tournament in Senegal and we are also here, so we’re working as a team now.
“It’s a different team, different coach and everything but then we need to win, we want to come back with the form of the old guys to win the trophy, this is very important for us and we are here to do that and to qualify for the Olympics.”
