Udeze tasks Peseiro on Goalkeeping crisis… replace Okoye, Uzoho

Former Nigerian LB Ifeanyi Udeze has called on Coach Jose Peseiro to try other Goalkeepers, following recent underwhelming performances of Maduka Okoye and Francis Uzoho.

The dou came under heavy scrutiny again after respective bad performances in just concluded training camp in Algeria.

Okoye played the first half of the encounter with the Algeria B side on Friday and his blunder caused the team a goal.

He was dropped for Francis Uzoho in the second game against the Desert Foxes, but the Omonia Nicosia goaltender failed to seize the opportunity and was at fault for Algeria’s second goal.

Speaking on his breakfast program “No Holds Barred”, on BrilaFM, Udeze said the Goalkeeping department needs urgent attention and it’s time to try other hands.

“We need to solve the issue in the goalkeeping department because this is the national team,” Udeze said.

“And whether we like it or not there’s no patience with a goalkeeper that needs one or two years to improve. Such patience is for club sides, not the national team.

“In the national team, if you’re not good enough, you have to give others the chance to try and if that person is good enough he should man the post, that’s why it’s the national team.”
