Nigeria’s WNT coach, Randy Waldrum expressed shock over the performance of his team against South Africa.
Waldrum told the media after the game, that his side played below expectations, especially in the attack.
Banyana Banyana outclassed the Falcons in the opening Group C tie at the Stade Moulay Hassan in Rabat on Monday.
Jermaine Seoposenwe struck first just after the hour mark and another from Hildah Magaia two minutes saw Banyana Banyana cruising to another sweet victory, although Ajibade got a consolation for Nigeria.
“We knew it would be a difficult game, it is the first game of the tournament and it is a long tournament,” Waldrum said. “We have to prepare for the next games.”
“I was surprised with our performance in the attack. We got a late goal and we tried to get back in the game, we are still positive.
“I am looking forward to how we can improve, we will look at the areas we were exposed and we will make those corrections.”
