Williams Troost-Ekong has stated that the Super Eagles are hungry and willing to redeem themselves when they meet Sierra Leone next week.
Ekong played the entire duration of the game as the Super Eagles played a 4 – 4 draw with the Leone Stars in the first meeting on Friday.
The three-time African champions allowed a four goals lead slip away from them, at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, but Ekong said the shocking result has left the team hungrier ahead of the reversed fixture.
“It is our Naija spirit to overcome and succeed. Hungry and ready for redemption Tuesday! 💪🏽🇳🇬 🦅 “he posted on Twitter.
The Super Eagles will take a point lead in Group L to Freetown on Tuesday after the Benin Republic closed the gap with a win over Lesotho on Saturday.
