Super Eagles star defender Kenneth Omeruo is confident about Super Eagles chances of lifting 2023 African Cup of Nations title in Ivory Coast.
The three time winners have been drawn in Group A, alongside hosts Elephants of Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau at a colourful ceremony held in Abidjan on Thursday.
The Eagles last won the tournament in 2013 and have made it into the last four once since then.
Speaking to the NFF media, Omeruo who plays for Kasimpasa in Turkey believes the Eagles can lift the title again.
“I think the group we find ourselves matters because in football youought to find yourself in an easy group so you come out top andfrom there you can find your way.
“I do believe we have the quality to win the AFCON, we have totake every game step by step and create the winning mentality thecoach talked about.”
The 34th edition of the AFCON scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
