Coach Ndubuisi Nduka hails Rivers United’s fighting spirit

Chief Coach of Rivers United, Ndubuisi Nduka gave kudos to his team for securing hard fought win over Katsina United on Sunday.

Ndubuisi Nduka led the team out in the absence of technical adviser Stanley Eguma who recently regained freedom from kidnappers.

The Pride of Rivers struggled to beat down their opponents, but reliable striker Malachi Ohawume came to the rescue with 77th minutes winner.

In his post match reactions, the experienced gaffer said the the most important thing is three points, not the number of goals scored.

He also admitted that Pride of Rivers struggled to break down the Changi Boys who themselves are desperately in need of points to stay up.

“It was a tough game, I think our boys gave it their all. What made itmore difficult for us was the chances we lost especially in the firsthalf but at this point and this time of the league.

“The second half , we are stretching to the finishing point, it isalways difficult and if you remember the position of Katsina United,they are not too safe so they are looking for where to pick points. soI give kudos to the boys for scoring at least that goal that securedthree points for us.” He said.

Ndubuisi Nduka will lead the team out once again in Wednesday’s Rivers State FA Cup final against Go Round FC.
