Dessers Scores, Wins Penalty as Rangers Edge St. Johnstone

Cyriel Dessers was on target for Rangers in their 2-0 win over St. Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

Fresh from their League Cup win, Rangers came into the game with full confidence and deservedly secured the maximum points after 90 minutes.

Rangers got their noses in front after 28 minutes courtesy of the in-form Cyriel Dessers.

Another effort from the Forward deflected, brought Mitov into action couple of minutes later.

Dessers was clear on goal, after being released by Scott Wright but the Nigerian was tripped by Mitov, as he was about to pull the trigger, with referee forced to award a penalty.

Skipper, James Tavernier, who got the winner over Aberdeen last weekend, converted the penalty for the sealer.

The 29-year-old Cyriel Dessers has now taken his tally to nine for Rangers across all competitions this season.

Next up for Clement Philippe’s side is an away game against Motherwell on Sunday.
