Nigeria’s UFC star Kamaru Usman has reached out to rival Khabib Nurmagomedov who lost ins father on Friday.
Khabib’s father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov died in Moscow, the fighter’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, confirmed to ESPN on Friday.
Abdulmanap who is also the trainer of undefeated UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had been hospitalized in Moscow since May when he was tested positive for coronavirus.
The trainer’s health was complicated after he underwent heart surgery before he finally gave up the ghost.
Kamaru has now joined the rest of the MMA community to send their support to Khabib and his entire family in this difficult period.
“Nothing can, and ever will replace the bond between a man and his father. @TeamKhabib we all knew what your father meant to you, this is sad and heartbreaking news. It’s hard but rest in knowing that Allah has taken away all his pain 🤲🏿” Usman wrote on the social media alongside picture of Khabib and his late father.
