Former Nigeria international Mutiu Adepoju has stated that the 2021 Africa cup of nations which was recently shifted to 2022 by CAF will be an ideal dress rehearsal for Nigeria’s FIFA 2022 world cup quest.
Adepoju stressed that the new arrangement will allow a very good opportunity to have a look at what Nigeria’s squad for the world cup will look like just like the team that won the AFCON in 1994 and went on to reach the second round of the FIFA world cup in the USA.
Adepoju a member of the 94 set that attended both AFCON and world cup tournaments told brila.net that there are positives to take from the postponement after the current Covid-19 situation.
