Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana says his first major task to provide stability for Grasshopper FC in the top flight division again.
Olofinjana was named as the new Sports Director for the Swiss giants this week after quitting his work as Wolverhampton Wanderers head of the academy.
Grasshopper suffered relegation from Swiss top flight for the first time in 68 years three seasons ago, but the club fought their way back up by winning the division one title.
In an interview with BBC Africa, the former Nigerian international stated that a club as big as Grasshopper deserves to be in the top flight division constantly.
“A club as decorated and influential as Grasshopper deserves stability and we need to find the right ways of restoring its lost football glory.”
“The history of the club and incredible fanbase clearly reflects a side that deserves better,”
“It is our collective job to set this team in the right direction and among the elite clubs competing for success,” he added.
Olofinjana has been tasked by the club to find the right coach that will lead the team out in the Swiss Super League next season.
