A World Master: 101-year-old woman wins 100m gold

A 101-year-old Indian sprinter has won the 100m title at the World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand.

Man Kaur, who raced… against herself, crossed the line in one minute 14.58 seconds – one minute and four seconds slower than the world record of 10.49secs set by American Florence Griffith-Joyner back in 1988.

Kaur will also take part in the 200m, shot put and javelin this week.

 

The World Masters Games is an international multi-sport event held every four years where, Participants compete for themselves – there are no country delegations.
