Iwobi’s Everton Suffer Shock Home Defeat To Sheffield United

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi was a second-half substitute in Everton’s 2-0 home defeat to Sheffield United in Saturday’s English premier league game.

The Merseyside welcome the newly-promoted side to the Goodison Park but failed to make most of their home advantage on the evening.

Sheffield took a shock lead five minutes before the half time after Columbia defender Yeri Mina diverted the ball into his own net.

In response to the setback, Marco Silva introduced Iwobi in place of Morgan Schneiderline five minutes after the half break, but the Nigerian failed to influence the game, as the visitors grabbed the second goal through Lys Mosseut in the 79th minutes.

The defeat, however, ended a run of five home game without defeat against the newly-promoted side for the Merseysiders.

Manager Marco Silva is now under gigantic pressure, as the club has now lost four of their last five league games.
