Ahead of this weekend’s African Nations Championship qualifier against Togo, Super Eagles B goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai says his focus is ensuring the team secures its passage to the competition proper.
Afelokhai, who is one of three goalkeepers called up for the game by Head Coach Imama Amapakabo, admits the competition for places in the team is fierce, but healthy and for the good of the team.
“I’ll use this opportunity to thank God first to be among the team to represent Nigeria. I believe that any of us that they decide to give a chance, the cooperation will be there,” said the 31 year-old.
“And the truth is that I’m here to be part of the players that will help Nigeria to qualify for the CHAN.”
