Godwin Aguda scored the only goal of the game as Rivers United recorded hard fought away win over his former Enugu Rangers.
Godwin Aguda benefitted from Nelson Esor’s superb cross to score the only goal that separated the NPFL giants in matchday 21 in Enugu.
Aguda who also provided the assist for Fortune Omoniwari to score the only goal in the reverse fixture on matchday one, was thorn in the flesh of the Salisu Yusuf’s tutored side all through the game.
He got the goal inside the opening 8 minutes, but the Pride of Rivers needed inspiration performance from goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai to maintain the lead.
The Flying Antelopes did pin Stanley Eguma’s men back for most part of the second half, and it took the brilliance of shot stopper Theophilus Afelokai late on to keep the the scoreline in favour of the “Pride of Rivers”.
Rivers United remain in 4th position with 38 points, 2 points behind joint leaders Akwa United and Kano Pillars (40 points).
