William Troost-Ekong Confident Super Eagles Ready to Fight in Benin Republic

Center Back William Troost-Ekong says the Super Eagles are fired up and battle ready for Saturday’s clash against the Squirrels of Benin Republic.

The Super Eagles currently sit on top of the Group with eight point one ahead of the Beninese who yet to lose on home turf in the last eight years.

Troost-Ekong expects the match will be a very difficult one, but insists the Super Eagles are ready for the challenge.

“The training session was good and all the boys are fired up, there is a lot of energy and we are working really hard. I think everyone is happy to be in Lagos.”

“It’s going to be a very difficult team and we have to respect the opponents as well.  But Nigerians will see a team that is ready to fight and willing to get the job done,” He said.

After engaging the Squirrels, the Eagles will return home to wrap up the qualifying campaign against Lesotho at the Teslim Balogun stadium.

The grass is good, they did well in getting it ready for us, but we have to go to Benin Republic first before playing here against Lesotho.”
