The Super Eagles of Nigeria were forced to a 2-2 draw by the Algerian Chan team in a test game on Friday night.
The match was played in Constantine and the Eagles labored to secure a draw against players who are playing their club football on home soil.
Super Eagles coach Joe Peseiro fielded a strong starting lineup, which included Maduka Okoye, Ola Aina, William Ekong, Valentine Ozornwafor, Ebube Duru, Chidozie Awaziem, Frank Onyeka, Chidera Ejuke, Ralph Nwadike, Ademola Lookman, and Taiwo Awoniyi.
Despite parading foreign-based players the Super Eagles went into the first half break trailing the Algerians.
Peseiro then made some changes to the team in the second half, which turned the tie around.
Iwobi and Dessers were introduced in the second half and they both scored a goal to put the Super Eagles 2-1 up.
The Algerians responded with the equalizer a few minutes later, to end the game 2-2.
The Super Eagles will now face the Desert Foxes in the FIFA-recognized match at Stade Olympique d’Oran.
The Kickoff time is 8 pm Nigeria Time.
