Abia Warriors Head Coach, Imama Amapakabo says he is happy with how his team approached their first match of the NPFL season against Enyimba.
Warriors suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against their City rivals at the Enyimba stadium on Tuesday.
Samad Kadiri scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute.
Reacting to the result, Imama said that his boys didn’t perform badly and hopes they can fight for points.
“We didn’t do badly, from a possible 114 points, we lost 3 so we have 111 to chase,” the Coach told the club’s website.
“I’m impressed with my team for losing 1-0 and it was a goal from the penalty spot.
“We played against a very good team & it wasn’t a bad show. It was an exciting game.”
Following the defeat Abia Warriors will now hope to get their first win when they lock horns with Rivers United FC in their next NPFL fixture at the same venue.
