Azubuike Okechukwu and teammate Sunday Mba have gone on twitter to thank the fans of Yeni Malatyaspor after a successful campaign in the TFF 1. Lig.

The club gained promotion to the Super Lig following Sunday’s 1-1 result against Boluspor as result elsewhere also went in their favor.

Okechukwu told www.brila.net last week that “It’ll be a great achievement to promote my team. I came here with a prospect to help them promote. The fans will also be happy about it to.”

On matchday, the 23-year-old Okechukwu played all 90 minutes for his 29th appearance of the season.

He marshaled the midfield and also got a 37th minute yellow card for his troubles.

Playing at home inside the 13,000 capacity Malatya İnönü Stadium the Apricot Landers went behind on the 28th minute.

It will require forty-nine grueling minutes for the leveler that earned them a point.

Second placed Sivasspor were also pegged back late in their game, with an 88th minute strike from Quirez Bezerra ending any hopes of a down-to-the-wire title race.

Both Okechukwu and Mba tweeted at different times after they club’s triumph.

The former’s latest tweet carried a message and a video compilation of apparently what were his best moments of the season.

His tweet read: “It was a rough and tough journey, but here we’re.Thanks to God almighty🙏.And this is also to congratulate my teammates, officials and Fans❤️”
