Build up to CAF Confederations match Rivers United Vs Club Africain

Club Africain is Rivers United’s FIRST opponents in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup group stage.

The game will be played on Sunday, May 14, 2017 by 6pm at the Stade Olympique de Rades.

It is a 60,000 (sixty thousand) capacity stadium and is usually filled to the brim on big match days… It will be completely packed on Sunday.

Rivers United opponents

Club Africain have two 27 year old goalkeepers, but Ben Farouk Mustapha is the first choice! He has played in 27 of the club’s 28 league matches this season.

Club Africain have on their books, EIGHT players who are non-Tunisians

They are:
1. 20-year-old Souleymane Coulibaly (A defender from Mali)

2. Mokhtar Belkhiter (25-year-old midfielder from Algeria)

3. Eymen Brahim (22-year-old midfielder from Germany)…. yes, a European!

4. Louise Essengue Eloumou Parfait (26-year-old midfielder from Cameroun)

5. Nader Ghandri (22-year-old midfielder from France)…. another European

6. Ibrahim Chenihi (27-year-old midfielder from Algeria)

7. Manoubi Haddad (20-year-old midfielder from France)…. third European on their books!

8. Matthew Rusike (26-year-old attacker from Zimbabwe)

Based on statistics, 30-year-old Saber Khalifa is the most prolific striker of Club Africain.
He has scored SIX goals in 18 league matches this season.
He has scored ONE goal in the Tunisian Cup and scored as they thumped Mauritian club, AS Port Louis 4-2 in the second leg of their playoff round tie at the Rades on April 15, 2017

Rivers United Opponent

Saber Khalifa is a full Tunisian international. He made his debut for Tunisia’s national team (the Carthage Eagles) in 2010 and has scored SEVEN goals in 41 appearances for his country.
