Ahead of Rivers United’s first leg, CAF Confederation Cup playoff against Al Nasr, midfielder Festus Austin believes the team will give everything to ensure they seal qualification to the Group stages.
The Nigerian league champions clash with Libya’s Al Nasr at the Adokiye Amasiamaka Stadium on Wednesday.
Rivers United will aim to banish the heavy defeat inflicted by Wydad Casablanca, that saw them relegated to the Confederation Cup.
“We just have to give more than 100 per cent performance to win the game because we know how important this is to us.
“We don’t have any excuse not to get to the group stage and for us to get to the group stage we just have to do everything and win convincingly. And I’m sure we will win,” he said ahead of the game.
The second leg is scheduled for next week in Libya.
