Chidera Ejuke fail to rescue CSKA Moscow from derby defeat in Russia

Super Eagles winger Chidera Ejuke was involved in CSKA Moscow’s Russian Premier League clash with rivals Locomotive Moscow on Saturday.

Ejuke started the match from the bench as his club went down 1-2 at home to their visitors in the fierce derby contest.

With scores level at 1-1, CSKA Moscow Coach Aleksey Berezutski decided to substitute Ilzat Akhmetov in the 56th minute and replace him with Chidera Ejuke, but the Nigerian failed to come up with any magic to help his team win the game.

Kristijan Bistrovic found the target for CSKA Moscow in the 19th minute, the lead however lasted for two minutes as Fedor Smolov hit almost immediately for the visitors.

Rifat Zhemaletdinov, however, scored the winner for the visitors, four minutes after Ejuke’s introduction into the game.

CSKA Moscow are nineth in the league standing with just three points from two games played so far.
