Dessers completes Dream Move to US Cremonese

Super Eagles attacker Cyriel Dessers has joined Italian side US Cremonese from KRC Genk.

Genk announced the transfer via their social media handle this Wednesday, after reaching agreement with Cremonese.

The deal is in the region of €6.5m, and bonuses included.

Dessers signed for KRC Genk in the summer of 2020, after a impressive performance in the Eredivisie, with Heracles Almelo.

However, he was unable to break into the starting 11 and spent most of the time on bench as back up to Paul Onuachu.

He managed to score seven goals in his debut season for Genk and helped the team to win the Belgian Cup.

Dessers then decided to leave Genk for Feyenoord on loan in the summer of 2021.

The player had what was the best season of his career, finishing runners-up in the Conference League and winning the golden boot.

Dessers, however, returned to Genk for the 2022-2023 after Feyenoord failed to exercise their right to purchase the player.

He started as the first choice striker for Genk and rewarded the coach Wouter Vrancken’s side with three goals and two assists in three games.
