Coach of Nigeria’s women national basketball team, Sam Vincent has been fired by the Nigeria Basketball Federation for “negligence of duty and divided loyalty.”
According to Brila.net sources, Sam Vincent has been on and off camp and was absent when a heated session broke out between a senior and junior player in the team during the week.
Meanwhile Assistant coach Peter Ahmedu said as shocking as the development seems there won’t be any void for laxity.
Speaking with Brila.net form the team’s Atlanta Camp, Ahmedu assured the Coaching crew will continue to tinker the team, but also expect further directive from the NBBF.
The Nigeria senior Women’s team is currently preparing for the 2018 FIBA World Cup where they’ll face Australia, Turkey and Argentina in the group phase.
