Early World Cup Exit Hurtful — Quadri

Early World Cup Exit Hurtful — Quadri

Nigeria’s Table Tennis sensation Aruna Quadri is disappointed following his exit from the ongoing ITTF World Cup Macao 2024.

Aruna bowed out of the competition in the first round after following 3-1 to Portuguese Marcos Freitas in the final Group game men’s singles.

The former African number went down 12-10, 11-9, 11-9, 3-11.

Reacting to his exit, the 35-year-old says, he was simply unlucky.

“The first three sets were so close and could have gone either way like it happened, “Aruna said after the defeat.

“But that happens in the game, I lost and it was hurtful.”

Aruna lost two games from three Group games, including a 4-0 loss Croatia’s Daniel Gonzalez in his second game on Tuesday.
